Bruktererpeton fiebigi (Boy and Bandel 1973) ~17 cm snout-vent length, Late Carboniferous (Namurian/ Bashkirian, 320 Ma), Germany was originally considered a sister to Gephyostegus bohemicus. Here, older than yet derived from Urumqia, Bruktererpeton was basal to other lepidosauromorph reptiles like Thuringothyris, Cephalerpeton and Saurorictus.
Distinct from Urumqia, the ribs are longer, the fore limbs are no longer but more gracile and the scapula is smaller. The hind limbs were longer and more gracile. |
